Monsters Vs. Superbowl

During the first half of the Superbowl tomorrow, catch a glimpse of the upcoming animated movie Monsters vs. Aliens -- which will be promoted with a special 90-second 3-D trailer. But you have to get yourself some 3-D glasses.

The glasses will also come in handy for watching a special 3-D episode of the NBC comedy "Chuck" on Monday.

"Let's go crazy, Broadway-style!"

If you missed the news, Michael Jackson's music video "Thriller" is slated to be transformed into a lavish Broadway production, a la jukebox musicals like ABBA's "Mamma Mia!" and Billy Joel's "Movin' Out."

Meanwhile, that long-awaited (well, long-reported) Spider-Man musical promises to be the "most expensive production in theater history." With a price tag of some $35 million just to set up, and a weekly running cost of $1 million, the show would "have to run about 8,000 years in a Broadway theater just to break even."

For those of you who do not keep up with my author blog, Learning Curve, I just posted some info about a new comic that my wife and I are launching:

Best Mann For The Job

TitleTrakk has posted the first preview from the upcoming weekly comic strip Best Mann For The Job, by my lovely wife, Erica, and me. It stars Grace Mann, a woman with a complicated past who returns home to serve as a small-town sheriff.

This series has literally been years in the making. (When I get a chance, I'll tell you the story -- but it's a long one.)

As the series unfolds, we'll be introducing some of the quirky residents of Hope Falls, Tennessee. So visit TitleTrakk every week for future episodes!

Ricardo Montalban (November 25, 1920 - January 14, 2009) starred as Mr. Roarke in the television series Fantasy Island (1977-1984). He appeared in a 1967 episode of the original Star Trek as Khan Noonien Singh, a role he reprised for the 1982 film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. He won an Emmy Award in 1978, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Screen Actors Guild in 1993.
